Buckwheat has a pronounced nutty taste, being included in the large class of pseudocereals. It is a pseudocereal because it is part of the Polygonaceae family and taxonomically it is not part of the same family as the rest of the cereals, the Gramineae family. However, it is an ideal alternative to the cereals that are already known on the market. The flowers of this species are an important source of nectar for pollinating bees. Buckwheat has a diverse use, being able to be used in different preparations.

• Use: It can be used as a garnish, in various vegetable dishes, in salads or in various bakery products, if ground.
• Method of preparation: Wash the 250 g of buckwheat and boil it in about 625 ml of water. Boil it over low heat for 15 minutes, then set aside for five minutes.
